Madagascar has about 300 species of birds, and 119 of them are endemic to the island. They belong to five different families including the Ground rollers, Couas, Vangas, Mesites, and the Asities.
During a professionally organized birding trip with us, we will help you spot more of the interesting bird species such as Madagascar Fish Eagles by the lakes in the west of the island, Hammerkop and Madagascar Red Fody in the ricefield, White-throated Rails in the marshes, Flamingoes in the salt lakes, Madagascar Pratincoles on the rocks and in the cliffs, Madagascar Partridges and Madagascar Sandgrouses in the grasses and savannas, Owls roosting in dense foliages, Madagascar Harrier Hawks flying over the forest, and the Madagascar Harrier flying elusively over the highland of Madagascar.
Moreover, in many places and locations we go during the birding trip, you will have the opportunity to do birding by yourself during the free time and that will give you the opportunity to add more bird species on your list. Some of them might include the Madagascar Coucals, Madagascar Kingfishers, Forest Rockthrush, Madagascar Brush Warblers, Madagascar Kestrels, and more…
Birding in Madagascar is an adventure experience, and that really encourages us to take you to different birding spots and ecosystems where you will appreciate the particularities of our birding trip.
